The Traveler is a student creative arts magazine produced annually by the English and Art Departments of Glendale Community College, AZ. The content is all student submitted work selected by a large group of judges. I was asked to design the look and theme for the 48th volume and I worked alongside a production team for the layout. Throughout the process, I was impressed by the talent, thought, care, and passion that came from the artwork and stories. I was honored to design the platform that exhibited these pieces.
My first step was to choose a visual theme for The Traveler and I chose patterns. I designed a different pattern for each section and each pattern was designed to reflect a different travel destination around the world. I also drew inspiration from the historical Arts and Crafts Movement to unify my designs.
